Arlene Stein loves food and travel but most of all she loves meeting people. She has an uncanny ability to collect friends wherever she goes, which means she usually can find a cozy bed and a good meal. She’s travelled to over 46 countries and been as far north as Svalbard. She’s worked in and around the hospitality industry since she was fourteen with her first job at Dairy Queen. Other than a brief stint in fashion and modelling and a job as a Private Investigator – restaurants, food and wine have been her career and her passion – which allowed her to create Canada’s largest hospitality networking symposium – Terroir. She loves farming and is constantly pursuing ways to help people become knowledgeable about food systems. She enjoys reading about food history and culture and never turns down an invitation to a good party. Today she lives in Berlin with her family, continuing to meet new people and enjoys urban exploring on foot.
